If you’re in Central Hong Kong and craving a unique burger experience, Hikiniku to Come at IFC Mall should be your next culinary destination. This Japanese hamburger restaurant specializes in what can only be described as the embodiment of indulgence — their perfectly grilled Kyushu Wagyu beef patties served over a bed of fluffy steamed rice.
The dining atmosphere is vibrant yet intimate, focused around a circular bar where the grilling takes center stage. The sizzle and aroma of the beef being charcoal-grilled right in front of you create an engaging experience that heightens your anticipation. Each bite of their hamburgers is a revelation; juicy and rich, the patties are crafted to melt in your mouth, delivering a punch of flavor that is both simple and sophisticated.
The standout dish here is undoubtedly the hamburger set — comprising three tender patties, unlimited rice, a comforting bowl of miso soup, and a fresh raw Japanese egg. The option to customize your burger with a variety of self-serve condiments, including their special sauces, makes for a personalized dining journey. For example, as one satisfied patron, Logan S. Y, noted, the sauces add an exciting element to the meal, enhancing the delectable beef flavor even further.
Customer Michael Lee described the experience as "interesting," highlighting the welcoming atmosphere and the engaging presentation of the meal. Meanwhile, Harry Zhang appreciated the quality of the beef and the novelty of charcoal-grilling in Hong Kong’s competitive dining landscape, echoing that the experience is "solid," albeit not overly flamboyant. This aligns with the restaurant's philosophy of providing expertly executed meals that celebrate simplicity.
Hikiniku to Come has rapidly gained a loyal following, and for good reason. Rowena Berroya emphasized that even two years after opening in IFC, patrons are still eager to score a spot to enjoy those "juiciest burgers" that are not just a meal but an experience to savor. Be prepared to arrive early or reserve your spot through their Instagram page — trust us, this is one burger expedition you won't want to miss.
The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality. At $168 for the set lunch, you're treated to a meal that pleases the palate and leaves you satisfied. Many customers have raved about the unlimited rice, making it the perfect option for those looking for a hearty lunch without breaking the bank.
In summary, Hikiniku to Come combines the art of Japanese grilling with the beloved burger format in a dining setting that is both casual and chic. Whether you are a local or just visiting Hong Kong, this establishment merits a spot on your food itinerary. Join the ranks of delighted diners and prepare for an unforgettable gastronomic experience that perfectly melds tradition and innovation.

INTERESTING EXPERIENCE 2025-10-09 We secured a last minute lunch rez at 3:15. Check in was OK. Diners are seated at a round bar with an open grilling station in the middle. Lunch set compriseded a miso soup loaded with onions, bottomless bowl of steamed Japanese rice, one raw Japanese egg and self serve condiments. The burgers were tender, juicy and well flavoured. An instruction sheet in the slide out utensils drawer explains how to experience the meal ( in Chinese and English). I enjoyed watching the chefs mold the ground beef into egg shaped patties and grilling them as much as dining on the food. Service was very good, sufficient without being overly attentive. The decor is pretty much a dining bar. Seats are all bar stools, designed for dine and leave operation. I like it and recommend it as a positive dining experience, if you like waygu beef.

Tried the famous Japanese chain Hikiniku to Come at IFC. They serve freshly grilled minced Kyushu Wagyu beef patties over rice — simple but refined. It’s quite rare to find charcoal-grilled burgers in Hong Kong, and the smoky aroma definitely stood out. The beef quality was good and juicy, and overall it was a solid meal. That said, it wasn’t exactly mind-blowing — more of a steady, well-executed experience than an “amazing” one. Worth trying once, especially if you enjoy authentic Japanese-style grilled Wagyu.

Heard a ton about Hikiniku to Come so very glad to see them opening a store in HK You get three burgers and they are juicy & smoky (chefs grill them right in front of you) There’s not a lot to pick from: the standard set plus a few side dishes as add-on (I got 2 out of 3, they are ok) You get small sides as part of the package (pickled cabbages) so I wouldn’t recommend ordering two many additional side dishes (like the potato salad or kimchi which used the same cabbage) unless you just wanna try They recommend three ways to eat the three burgers: 1) just it plain and/or with rice 2) serve with pickled radishes and yuzu vinegar (my favorite) 3) eat it with raw egg (dip or mix with rice) I also really enjoyed the green chili sauce - it goes really well with the smokiness of the burgers and added another level of flavor The rice is top notch and it’s unlimited so come hungry! Like many other Japanese spots, this is a great place to come solo or with a close friend - seating is limited and venue is also very compact so not ideal for large groups Overall would rate this place: Taste: 8.5 Value: 8.5 Experience: 8.0 Overall: 8.3/10 ——— Hong Kong $262 HKD (or $34 USD) Highly recommend making a reservation in advance for peak hr (or come at ~3:15)

There is only one main item in this restaurant, the grilled burger. After 2 years in IFC, you still have to find your way at 11am to get a seat or reserve at their Instagram page a week prior. They are the juiciest burgers and their special sauces elevate the taste to the next level. Will never tire of this yummy burger.

This Hong Kong spot stays true to its Japanese roots, offering just one simple yet satisfying set meal: three perfectly charcoal-grilled hamburger patties served with rice (yes, free refills!), soup, and an egg. A variety of sauces and free cabbage pickles add to the fun, letting diners customize their experience. The patties are on the fattier side, giving them a rich, creamy, melt-in-your-mouth texture that’s absolutely indulgent. However, they might not be the best choice for those watching their calorie intake. At HK$148, the set is solid value. Need a soup refill? That’s an extra HK$15, plus the 10% service charge. Fair warning: they only have counter seating, so get ready for a cozy, no-frills dining vibe. For those feeling fancy, the extra radish at HK$35 is worth a try—fresh and crunchy, though a little on the sour side. The minimalist décor mirrors the sleek, modern style of its Japanese counterpart, keeping things simple and stylish. As in Japan, reservations are a must. Book online 7 days in advance (starting daily at 10 am), though a short wait might still be in the cards. Oh, and meals need to be purchased at the kiosk before being seated—just another nod to the efficient, no-nonsense Japanese system. Service is decent, though the staff talk faster than a bullet train. Overall, Hikiniku to Come delivers a fun, authentic experience for fans of Japanese-style hamburger sets, with just enough quirks to keep things interesting.

This Japanese-style hamburger set lunch is $168, which is reasonably priced. It includes three 90g hamburgers, which are cooked to perfection, juicy, and flavourful. The rice is unlimited, and there are three recommended eating methods and various condiments to choose from. I personally prefer the patty on its own, allowing me to taste the beef flavour. I’ll definitely be back!
